This is often a result of experiencing long strategic planning "off-sites" that result in great intentions and substantive documents that then sit on shelves and never make a real impact on the business.
Strategic planning should never be solely an intellectual exercise, but instead should be a dynamic, living process that maps out how your organisation will achieve competitive advantage and succeed in achieving your vision.
We believe strategic intent should be clearly defined and measurable, it should be something the whole leadership team can agree on and critically, is the measure against which all organisational investments are compared.
